Unit 6 Newbridge Industrial Esta
Having spent a considerable amount on an IKEA delivery, I had convinced myself that the service would have to be impressive or I would be making a complaint to retrieve some of my overly zealous charge. I recieved an SMS and email the day before delivery with a 3 hour delivery window, first thoughts were there is no chance that the goods will arrive within this short period of time considering I live in a rural area. Normally when I expect a delivery I would be given a delivery week and hope for the best, a slight exaggeration but in comparison to a three hour delivery window, proportional. Minutes after the SMS I received an email confirming the same delivery window but with an actual proposed eta at which point I thought someone was having a laugh, impossible. "You are drop 9 and your current ETA is 15:47", "Will believe it when I see it" was my thought. Intrigued I decided to follow the delivery through the tracking link provided in the email, something I don't normally bother with, as expected no change from the point of receiving the correspondence until the day of delivery. The following morning my phone sounded between 7am and 9am as the correspondence suggested and it was the driver confirming the delivery window, very polite and courteous he was. Due to his accent I asked him out of curiosity "Where are you leaving from?" to which he answered "Edinburgh". I laughed. 150+ miles at least and 8 deliveries before my own and they are providing me a delivery window of three hours and an estimated to the minute arrival time which they expect to make. Very presumptuous, bold or down right stupid? Following the tracking link, the revised arrival time fluctuated throughout the day "We are currently delivering drop number 7, the delivery team are currently 5 minutes ahead of schedule, your revised ETA is 15:42." I received a call from the driver at around 14:50 to tell me that they are still on schedule to arrive, a nice touch I thought. "I know, I am following your progress online.", he laughed "a lot of customers do that now!" he said. As time progressed the message on the website changed, it now read "we are currently making our way to you, our revised ETA is 15:49". I jest not, too the minute the truck pulled up outside our house I was astounded, unbelieveable. The drivers were very friendly courteous and could not do any more to be helpful. They spoke very openly about the company as I had said I had never heard of Technologistics before and they explained it was a relatively new company which liked to be different. Different they certainly were. Well done Technologistics you will be an inspiration to many other delivery service providers I am sure and IKEA should be proud to have you as a service provider. I hope to experience your service many more times in the future, Excellent. The conclusion that I have drawn with regards my initial thoughts to recoup some of my "over zealous" delivery charge, "it was worth every penny".
