A fantastic resturant with a relaxing enviroment.

I went to this resturant with my mother for my 16th birthday and was thrilled by it. The food is fantastic we went for a lunch time buffet and to be fair the choice isn't THAT bad, there could be more but for a nice little lunch the price isn't too bad. I was dissappointed with the desserts though (purely for the lack of choice.) Something I did find enjoyable; the enviroment is nice & relaxing. This very enjoyable resturant offers great value for money and will leave feeling very satisfied.

Favorite restaurant!!!

I absolutely love this restaurant, and it is up there with my favourites. Terracotta itself is tucked away in a little side street in leicester city centre, but once your there, it is definateley worth it. The restaurant is pretty and modern looking with a cheerful atmosphere, perfectr for meals with the family, with work, or a romantic meal for two. The food is buffet style authentic oriental food, which means that its got all the classics that we are used to such as crispy duck pancakes and dumplings (which I love) as well as dishes such as the more contemporary tepenyaki. How the tepanyaki works is that you make a selection of fresh fish/meat/poultry/seafood/veg/noodles that you would like, and then take it over to the grill where you watch a chef cook it infront of you, adding a bit of this and that to make it really delicious. It was so good I had to go back for seconds. So not only is there the vast choice of the main buffet, but there is also the tepanyaki. And for desert, there is the option of fresh fruit salads and jellies, for those who are that little bit healthier, but for the rest of us, there are chocolate gateauxs, cheescakes, fried fruit fritters, and a whole range of ice creams that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If the food wasn't enough, the service was excellent. No sooner had I pushed my plate aside, that it was whipped away by the staff so as not to have a table over flowing with dirty dishes and glasses, as does happen in so many restaurants. The staff are always around to take your order of a drink, or to offer you any help you might need. At luch time though, the selection of food on offer is less than at dinner, however the price of the meal is also less than at dinner, however, the food that is out is delicious, and there is still alot to choose from, and I have been there many times for luch, as well as dinner. All this, in a reasonable price..definateley good value for money, and definatlely one of my favourite restaurants.

good, not much choice at lunch time

This is a pleasant enough chinese buffet restaurant however I felt that there was not a great deal of choice available at lunchtime although I believe that this may be different in the evening. The choice was quite small especially the vegetarian dishes however what was there was nice and of quite good quality. The service was reasonable, there were small confusions with the ordering of the drinks and of course you help yourself to the food so it is mainly self service.Despite the lack of choice I would say that the restaurant was generally good value for money about £6 to eat as much as like.

Definately an experience!!!

This is really an experience!! The restaurant is hidden away just off high street in Leicester... the venue itself is actually quite big. We had the evening buffett and there was plenty to choose from... sushi, teriyaki, chinese etc. The food was all very tasty and well prepared, decor and general ambience was modern and comfortable. Service was good and prices were fairly reasonable. Didn't look like it catered for very big parties although there were some smaller parties. The buffett is very extensive and there is pretty much something for any person's taste - well worth it just for the experience!!

Lunchtime Buffet £6.60

Dreadful. Arrived at 12pm opening for the Friday buffet. Only the starters were out and most were cold. We stopped eating after a few bites. Mains came shortly after and of the very small selection, all looked drab and were lukewarm. No excuse for food to be cold as everything was on hot plates. It is likely that it was recycled from the night before. Complained and asked to settle the bill early and were told that we'd eaten some of it and were still charged £9 for two buffets. That is the equivalent price of two adult buffets at rival restaurants Flame and EatAway. Absolute garbage.
