About

The Body Project provides individuals with a specialist sport and exercise medicine service at a specifically equipped Clinic. Kelly treats sports injuries and enables indivduals to optimise their fitness, health and wellbeing, with corrective exercise and sports massage therapy. The service is intended to enhance quality of life and optimise everyday living including performance in sport and recreation.

A bespoke approach to remedial massage and training, for life without physical limitations.

Kelly is a guest lecturer to the third year physiotherapists at The University of Nottingham.

She is also the fitness expert for Sainsbury's, Boots, Glamour magazine, Marieclaire magazine, Woman & Home magazine, North Staffordshire NHS, Essentials magazine & Nutracheck.co.uk exclusively and has been a technical consultant to England Hockey (coaching England under 18 & 21 women) for the last 10 years.

An Insight into lower limb biomechanics and how it affects injuries!

This week's topic - lower limb mechanics and overprontation - an insightWhat is Pronation? : The normal function that occurs when the foot rolls inward toward the midline of the body. What is Overpronation? : The postural deviation where the foot tolls to far inward for normal function and causes issues in the calves and lower legs.Prehabilitation insight: Overpronation over time, can lead to inflexibility of the calf muscles and the Achilles tendon, which in turn leaves individuals more susceptible to common foot and ankle complex injuries including muscle strains and ligament sprains.A definition for interest:In 1947, the Posture committee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons defined posture as: ‘‘the arrangement of body parts in a state of balance, that protects the supporting structures of the body against injury or progressive deformity''

Well, where do I begin? Kelly is a fantastic personal trainer for starters. She helped me last year to successfully complete a 10k charity run. Kelly's enthusiasm has played a big part in giving me the inspiration to progress and train for a half marathon this year in memory of my Nephew. A big feat in itself as I didn't even like running to begin with! Now I love it so thankyou Kelly. Kelly is an amazing person. She has a very professional approach and knows how to put you at ease straight away. My training plan was designed specifically with me in mind, making it personal and fun. Kelly is a wealth of information and is very committed to health and fitness and is extremely supportive.

Where do I start!? I have been treated by Kelly for a whooping 6 years! I have mild disc degeneration (slip disc) due to a car accident in 1999. Since being treated by Kelly I have been able to lead a normal life (pain free). Not only is she fantastic in what she does, she is an awesome and amazing person (and very funny)! Most of my family members are treated by Kelly and are always pleasured by her warm and welcoming manner! I sincerely thank Kelly for all the advice and support she gives to me and my family! x

Kelly managed to get me into shape to do the Moonwalk a couple of years ago. I had had 3 knee operations and was very doubtful that I would manage the 26.2 miles fast walking around London, but thanks to her training programme I did it in a good time and my knee was fine. She is also an excellent sports masseuse and has kept my muscles up to coping with playing tennis on a regular basis with no lasting ill effects – all in all brilliant at all she does.

hi all - fot 9 years i've had problmes with my ankles - saw all the specailusts in the world, who also charged me a fortune, & nothing was ever resolved 2 sessions with Kelly & I'm now ruuning again - even after 10 miles & I can still walk the next day! M

I have been treated by Kelly for a sports injury which has affected me on and off for over 2 years - to the point where I was considering giving up the sport (tennis) due to the limiting factors of my problem. I have seen a GP, Osteopath and Physiotherapist - none of which unfortunately made any difference. After 3/4 clinic treatments with Kelly I can move/play freely without any discomfort AT ALL ! She really has been the only person that I have seen who has been able to fix me ! Kelly offers a truely professional service & obviously has a wealth of knowledge & genuine interest in health, fitness & wellbeing. Although injury free now I will continue to have 'maintenance' treatments with her :-)

Kelly is a true professional not only are her programs individually tailored but thought out with precision and care. Kelly has successfully helped me build on my core strength, switch on/strengthen muscles, improve my posture and increase my stamina. Kelly has trained me through pre and post pregnancy and has help improved my Fibromyalgia. She is a first class personal trainer and you won't find better.

Kelly is a hard working and committed trainer. She has a highly professional approach and always has a new work out planned for me when we meet. She knows how to motivate me particularly at times when I can't find any of my own! More importantly Kelly sticks with me and gives me the belief that I will eventually reach my goals. It feels great to have someone who is with you 100% of the way and Kelly is that person! Training sessions with Kelly are great fun and I always come out feeling much better than when I went in!!
