About us

The Farm Environment Ltd was established in March 2009 to provide professional and reliable ecological and farm-based conservation advice. Based in the Scottish Borders, we provide a full range of services for anyone seeking expert advice on all aspects of farm conservation, from habitat and species surveys and agri-environmental advice to habitat management and training. We have great experience and success in developing agri-environmental schemes for rural businesses across Scotland.

Who We Are

The Farm Environment Ltd is built on over 25 years of practical countryside management skills and knowledge.
Tony Seymour, Director, has provided environmental advice to the agricultural sector for over 20 years, mainly with the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group, but also as a freelance consultant. Prior to this, he was a countryside ranger and manager and farm worker. Tony has a degree in zoology, is a Chartered Environmentalist, a Member of the Institute of Ecological and Environmental Managers, a Member of the Scottish Association of Independent Farm Conservation Advisers, and a Member of the Association of Countryside Managers.

Tony's range of expertise extends across practical habitat management, multiple land-use management, habitat and species surveying and mapping. He has considerable experience of project development, funding and management as well as individual and group training and development.

Tony works with a network of experts to provide a wide range of services.
