Very Poor Tailoring

It is with a heavy heart that I write this very negative review. I recently picked up a 'so called' bespoke overcoat from 'Dave' at the VT. At the second fitting when Dave had placed the pockets to low in the coat and when the lining was visible from the bottom of the coat and when the collar was completely and utterly wrong I should have called time and got my money back; yet out of pity for Dave I wanted to give him the chance to get it right. On completion of the coat the sleeves are at odds to each other one longer and much wider. The buttons are at differing lengths and angles to each other and the coat is lob sided. As I say I blame myself for not putting a stop to it at the first fitting. I did ask for a refund for the work - I supplied my own cloth and lining and was willing to forge the expense of both as a good will gesture - but I was told no. I feel for Dave as he is not a 'Tailor' in the truest sense of the word and I think he would be best putting his efforts into his other venture which is fixing 'tents'. I would not use him again, and I would caution others from doing so. He is a nice bloke, but not a good tailor.
