I went to Tonino's restaurant several times and I was never disappointed. This gave to me the chance to try different types of pizzas as well as different starters. I absolutely recommend 'bruschetta with asparagus and bresaola' and the vegetarian pizza. As for the wines, I was happy to see that finally even in England it is possible to have a good quality Italian wine. I had a bottle of red Primitivo from Puglia, which was the ideal accompaniment for the lovely evening. Lastly, the service was outstanding and the waiter was very nice, friendly and kind. I strongly recommend you this restaurant if you want to enjoy a meal in a lovely atmosphere.

This restaurant is always packed full, but they must have been eating something different from us or they wouldn't have gone back. The starter was boring, £8 for 12 slices of salami, my wife forgot what she had, it was that good. Her pizza was rubbish, you can get better at the supermarket. My pasta in olive oil with fillet steak was the dullest - sliced strips of boiled rubber meat thrown onto thick bits of boiled pasta and soaked in olive oil. Flavourless. No sauce, very expensive and too bland to be on a menu. There was no point using a good cut of meat as the cooking method ruined it anyway. There aren't many wines under 20 pounds and they're mostly table wines with a substantial mark-up. The meal cost over 60 pounds for two and we'd recommend it to nobody. What a disappointment. No carabonara, no gnocchi, none of the famous Italian staple dishes and all the staff were too fed up to serve us and showed it. They add 10 percent to the bill automatically and then, because I didn't check the bill properly, I added a tip, god knows why, so they got about twelve pounds extra out of us. Should have gone to the Indian.
