COMPANY HAS CHANGED
On seeing the earlier reviews albeit from some time ago, I thought I would mention that UK Mobility went out of business and are no longer trading. The new company Ability Plus seem to run a much better service, I have noted new loan scooters, friendlier staff and all over a massive improvement.

Appalled
I visited Bluewater yesterday 6th November. I knew there was this service as I have used something similar at Lakeside. I took my 96 year old Mother in law and arrived at Shopmobility at 6:20pm. I had not prebooked but needed their assistance. I walked in and asked to hire out a wheelchair which I know they would charge. The young man was about to hire out one to me. Yet from the back of an open door a lady shouted out that they do not hire out after 6pm (whilst she was having a cigarette). I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The man apologised but that didnt help me. When I questioned why and that there were 6 chairs right in front of me. The lady said it was a matter of insurance. I said I am willing to put £400 cash now to cover insurance of the item to ensure its return. Instead she kept repeating "Its company policy". What you are telling me is that although a large centre like Bluewater is open until 9pm. You refuse to aid the elderly and disabled because its after 6pm. This is utter stupidity! Where is your humanity and compassion. Clearly non existent. Bluewater can learn a thing or two from Lakeside. Give them a call and learn how its done. You didn't have a problem in potentially selling a wheelchair after 6 when asked. Your actions were disgraceful. For the sake of a mere 25mins after 6pm and all you could say was the comical answer 'computer says no!' Change your business and stop pretending to help people.

Mobility for the disabled
I've never used this place, but I've seen it. They provide those wheelchairs and electric scooters for people who have trouble getting around. They can be hired for flexible periods.
