A good school for me
This school was very good for me, I learned so much. They do alot of grammar exercises and speaking exercises in the class. You get to meet so many different people. This helped me to get more confidence. I can speak more to people than when I first came to the UK. I studied for 1 year and now I am looking for a job. I am happy,

I chose UK School because it was the cheapest school i came across to learn English. All the other schools in London were very very expensive. What UK School had to offer me was great and the teacher was excellent!

Great fun
I have just finished my course in the Intermediate class, and I had so much fun. i didn't know how much i had progessed until the end when I got 97% on my exam. I would definitely recommend this school!

Such a lovely place to be because the people are nice and friendly. I always had fun in Eddie's class and we had good debates with each other. The staff always happy to help you and the best part is that you get your certificate at the end for all the hard work.

Very flexible
I chose this school because the classes are flexible and the staff are friendly and very helpful. I also find that the English people are very kind and everyone has been very welcoming. Since studying at the school, I am much more confident and my English has improved. I would defintely recommend the school to other students.

Lots of fun & meeting new people
I have loved studying at UK School of English. I have met lots of people and made lots of new friends, I even met my flat mates at the school. "I particularly enjoyed the school trips with my teacher Alena. They were really fun! I would recommend the school to anyone who wants to learn English, I have really enjoyed myself and made many new friends.

Great school
I have finished my course 1 week ago and completed the Intermediate level. I have also got good grades and I have to thank my teacher for this. I never had any problems with anything. All my certificates were given to the home office and everything was fine, so i am greatful for this experience here.

Definitely Recommend
I would recommend this school simply because of my teacher...Eddie Man. He decicated time and effort to after lessons to give that extra help. Being a foregin students, this is what we need. Someone to be patient, more english schools in England need to be like this.

I improved my English
My English has definitelly improved in the short time i have studyed here. The lessons were always fun and you know that they are very popular because there were always so many students attending. I really enjoyed my time here and I am happy that I had the chance to finally learn.

My English has improved!
My English has improved over the short time that I was at this school. The lessons were fun and so was my teacher. You can tell that the school was very popular because there was so many students attending, I give the school a thumbs up for the good work!

Excellent Value School
I have to say that this school is value for the money that you pay. Compared to other English School's that charge riduculous prices, this school is the best. You get a great service and the staff make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. You even get discounts when you enroll on the course and they help you with travel. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about this school. I think it is 100% worth every penny!

Great School!!
I loved this school! They don't deserve any bad reviews at all. What is there not to like.The teachers are highly qualified and you can learn so much in a short time. It is a good place to go to meet new people and to to learn general English. I finished my course only a few months ago and I had no problems at all. I am greatful for the opportunity and I would recommend to anyone.

Hi Lads! Well, the UK School of English 71A South End Croydon London CRO 1BF UK Tel.: +44(0) 208 686 3122 +44(0) 208 686 3122 Fax: +44(0) 208 686 3775 DOSENT HAVE A LICENCE NUMBER!!!!! this is a fact. I have applied already and full paid for a 48 weeks language course. So I went to the British Embassy in my country and unfortunately NO EMBASSY STUDENT VISA MAY BE GRANTED IF THE LANGUAGE INSTITUTE HAS NOT THIS LICENCE NUMBER. So it will be impossible for any foreing student who need a student visa aplly for a language course at this institute. I honestly think students should know this information before make any payment....is just fair. Hopefully i will get a REFUND of my money soon :-(

very good school
i am very surprized to see this coments as i was also a student at UK SCHOOL ENGLISH and i was very happy wth the level of teaching and the staff was very friendly.The school is modern and the teachers are all native english and qualified.I would recommend anybody to study in this school.I have started the course with litle english and during my course i have made a good progress and now i got a good job . I would like to thanks to UK SCHOOL OF ENGLISH and specialy to my teacher mr BRADLEY which had 30 years of experience. I think the school has everything more value for the money comparing wih other school where you pay 2000 pounds or more and still students comlain.You can not make everybody happy.

Shocking !!! what a shameful place!
I had a very similar experience! How shocking and frustrating the whole situation is. I just can not believe that they are still up in running. It is so unfair!!! I hope one day they pay for all the suffering they caused me and my family. What goes around comes around!!! By the way, they were so bad they do not even deserve a star!

Avoid at any price!
Small, overcrowded and staff with bad attitude. Focused on making money not teaching. Not in London but in Croydon [Greater London] - good 20min walk to East Croydon train station and then another 20min to Victoria if you're right on time. Unfriendly and unprofessional. Extra charges apply when starting your course + extra for a certificate. Not as cheap as you may think. Teaching level is below average. Maybe this is good, if you're after a visa, but there are many better alternatives. If you lern the language, you will find much better job. With them learning will take you ages. NOT RECOMMENDED!

UK School of English: stay away from them
They took £500 from me knowing they do not have a licence number, knowing that I will not get a visa, and knowing that I am simply loosing my money for nothing, which I found pure evil, to say the least. I am talking about this school, just to avoid confusion: Their Address: UK School of English 71A South End Croydon London CRO 1BF UK Tel.: +44(0) 208 686 3122 Fax: +44(0) 208 686 3775 The law came in March and I have visited the school in person a few months later. They knew about the new law, but they did not mention it when they are taking my cash. They did not update their website with the new data. They just kept quite, took the money, knowningly that I will be refused a visa because only they know that they do not have the "Licence Number" yet. When I phoned them about this, several times trying to speak to someone who can deal with this, the last lady I spoke to said: "we have 101 things in our mind, and so we cannot tell you about all these things." This kind of answer really shocked me, as I am trying to recover from the previous shock. And when I asked to postpone the course until they get the number, and said that they do not know if they will get the number or not, I had the answer to my question: they might know that they will not get the licence number and so if they update their website with the latest or tell you about it, then they will loose a lot of students, which means less money. Please students, stay away from this school, and from any other UK schools of English that does not have a licence number, and who are rude to you after collecting the cash. Of course, they might be right when they said they had 101 thibgs in their minds and it is the responsibility of the student to find out about the visa issues, but they still kept misleading information in their website (to this day) about the visa, and their meta tag says they help with the visa. How can they help you with the visa when they are concealing the only one things that will make you loose all your money because they have 101 other things in their minds? Mind boggling to say the least! Telephone conversation I had with them: A conversation with a member of the staff at the UK School of English went as this: Question: have you applied for a licence number? Answer: yes. Question: can I then postpone the commencing date of the course until you get the licence number so that I will not loose my money? Answer: no. But later, after going back to their website, I realised they say you can change the start date. So I phoned them: Question: Can you change commencement date? Answer: No, we do not. Question: but in your website http://www.uk-school-of-english.com/web/english_course_Faq-1-1-8.htm you say:"Yes, you may change the date of commencement. . . . "! Answer: Yes, but we do not know if we will get the Licence number or not! This means that she is saying that she cannot change the start date for me because there is a possibility that they will never get a licence number. But then why can not they give me a chance to wait with them until we see that they have a number or not? Also shocking, is that while I was waiting to get this sorted out, I was asked to wait outside on the roof, where other students smoke on the roof, right on the edge of the building - the only thing that is stopping them from falling over is a rope. The glass pyramid in the middle has several cracks and is held together with Gafa tape - imagine those people walking right underneath? Why should they fix a broken glass? Because it costs money. The whole atmosphere seems really starnge: give us your money and get out of here. I wonder the British government did not give them a licence number (as of today). Go and see for yourself, if you can. But please do not pay them any cash until you see the licence number. And even then their attitude makes them very bad lot. Also, please do not pay any British School of English any money until you see the new Licence Number, now required by all embassies before they give you a visa. Good luck in your search for good English school in London. Victim of UK School of English.
