Your own computerised life coach on your computer at the touch of a button.
thelifecoachapp is self help software with a built in life coach! Computerised coaching!
You can use it to get coaching support for health, career, relationships or lifestyle issues you are facing, or any other personal situation that you feel a bit stuck with.
Self-help usually just involves reading books with general tips and advice, but thelifecoachapp provides tailored support for each user. It offers different support depending upon your personality, strengths, ways of coping, gender, age, and the current emotion you are feeling about the issue you want to address.
Most coaching support focuses only upon words. thelifecoachapp also uses visual images to give you new ideas about your issue, options, and actions.
It includes relaxation videos to help you feel less driven and be missing possibilities.
It starts by helping you see whether the current emotion you have about your issue is helpful or unhelpful and how to change it..
Professor John Sparrow is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the United Kingdom Health Professions Council. He is a qualified life coach and is a Consulting Associate of the Institute of Reflective Practice. He has undertaken internationally recognised research upon techniques for accessing the ways that people think, and has pioneered the use of an integrated framework combining rational, creative and mood thinking alongside both written and visual modes of thinking. He has written many academic journal articles, book chapters and books in this field and his work has been presented internationally. Key contributions include: foundation work upon the use of visual representation in information systems (Behaviour and Information Technology, 1989) and the workplace (XIth World Productivity Conference, 1999), the role of multimedia in creative thinking (Knowledge-based Systems, 1994), the ways that all the different forms of thinking affect our work performance and how people can identify the ways that people think (Knowledge in Organizations: Access to Thinking at Work, 1998, Sage), the use of emotion in visioning the future (International Journal of Business Innovation Research, 2008) and in imagery and creative thinking (Beyond Sensemaking: Emotion, Imagery and Creativity, 2006, Open University Press), work factors that limit opportunities to reflect upon one's own thinking and practice (Journal of Health Management, 2006), the effects of mood thinking in reflective practice (Reflective Practice, 2009), coaching practices and life coaching in the workplace (International Coaching Psychology Review, 2007). Professor Sparrow's insights into the ways in which thinking can be enhanced have been captured in a unique way within this software.
