A warm welcome awaits all visitors to our Plant Nursery Centres at West Heddon Nursery and our Ovington Nursery. Our plant area at Heddon is laid out in the grounds of an old walled garden in which you will find all manner of garden plants for almost any purpose. At our Ovington Nursery, which has great views over the Tyne Valley, we have a full range of Cottage Garden Plants, the vast majority grown by ourselves. About Us

We are a traditional family run Nursery Centre established in 1921 by William Nicholson Hall. Since our early years we have grown many of our own plants and specialised in Dahlias and Chrysanthemums. Our first catalogue of these wonderful and increasingly popular flowers was first produced in 1931. Since then we have gone from strength to strength growing almost 150 000 plants annually and supplying Chrysanthemum and Dahlia plants nationwide and to members of the EU. Our Greenhouses

In the spring our greenhouses are full of bedding, basket and patio plants which are grown in quality compost with the addition of slow release fertiliser where we feel plants will benefit. We also produce an expanding range of young vegetable plants ready for planting out with our young Tomato Plants regarded as some of the strongest in the North. In late Summer and Autumn we move onto winter and early Spring Bedding Plants with our Greenhouses filled with over 2,000 Cyclamen -a spectacular site when they are in flower. Primroses follow the Cyclamen along with Senetti, a recent crop we have tried and have had great successs with. It is at our Ovington Nursery that all the Dahlia Propagation takes place with plants been transprted to Heddon in readiness for despatching.
