"The ultimate portable case for a large camera kit." - Review by pabs - I've had the Peli 1510 for about 3 years now and I have never regretted the money I spent on it. When I finally bought it, I had devoted some time weighing up the options, and finally decided that it was the maximum size of camera case which I could handle, but at the same time would hold enough of my kit to be my standard "going away on a trip" case. I tried the 1560 as an alternative but it was just too bulky for me and the 1510 is the largest which will be accepted by some airlines as "hand luggage". The build quality is second to none. There is something so satisfying about that resounding click when the latches snap into place; you know it's closed, and more importantly you know it's going to stay closed. For me, and I would imagine, most photographers, the most practical configuration is with padded dividers and the lid organiser. The amount of gear that it will hold is amazing, and it is totally safe inside the flexible arrangement of protective pockets. To give you some idea of the capacity, as I write the list of its contents is: Nikon 7000 + MB-D11 grip and 7 lenses (10.5mm, 50mm, 180mm, 11-16mm, 16-85mm, 70-300mm VR, 70-180mm Micro-Nikkor), plus stacks of filters, close-up lenses, extension tubes, teleconverters, external microphone, and all sorts of bits and bobs in the lid pockets. With that much weight in it I am thankful for the pull-out handle and wheels. Basically the only lifting I normally do it is to put it in my car boot from where I can select my lens of choice. I now have 3 more smaller Peli cases (the 1400, 1450 and 1500) devoted to flash and macro equipment, but in my opinion the most useful, and probably indispensable, is the 1510. "Built Like A Brick Outhouse" Review by Croydon Cloth-ears - I bought four of these for a rather expensive set of radio-mic transmitters and receivers. Dave at Waterproof Box got them to me within 12 hours of ordering and two days later they were on a flight to Nice with 30 or so assorted (and heavy) crates. Peli cases have always been the closest thing to indestructible and these are no exception. When you've thousands of pounds worth of kit to look after AND you want lightweight boxes, there is only one answer - the Peli. (Posted on 17/04/2012)
