We stayed here for one night in July 2010, while walking the North Downs Way, in their Heritage Room. We arrived tired and hot, with dog in tow. Staff were very welcoming and got us quickly into our (lovely) room. The room is not huge, but charming and clean. I cannot say enough about the shower, however. Torrents of water, unheard-of levels of water pressure for Britain, SO welcome at the end of a long hot walk. Big fluffy white towels were the perfect complement. We had a lovely dinner in their courtyard; the menu was adventurous and reasonably priced. Food was well done and presented nicely. The room was a bit hot overnight, and does face the street, so a bit noisy with the windows open, but manageable. Nice touches in the room, like a mini-cafetiere with real coffee rather than instant. We ended our stay with a big cooked breakfast the next morning, with proper poached eggs and complimentary newspapers. All in all, a fine place. The staff were warm and welcoming, and could not do enough to make our stay a nice one. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
