EXCELLANT KENNELS
Ralph our Welsh springer has stayed at Windy Hill kennels four times. Each time we have been very pleased with the care and attention he has received. We chose these kennels because it is a small, very clean, family run business. Ralph also comes here to be groomed and has got to know both Sam and Dave. This year Ralph has not been well and we were worried about leaving him, but Dave kept a close eye on him and reassured us when we phoned to see how he was. When we picked him up he was just as pleased to greet Dave as he was us. He looked very well and happy. We would recommened these kennels to any pet owner.

Review on our return
This was the first time we had put our dogs(elsa & roxy) in kennels so i wanted to get it right, we visited Windy Hills prior to booking and recieved a warm welcome from Dave who showed us around the grounds and the kennels, i was so impressed i placed my booking there and then. The kennels are immaculate all with air conditioning, heating and a radio playing in the back ground. On the day we picked our dogs up they were groomed lovely thanks to Sam and they looked content, they even turned to go back into the garden at one point so to me that says it all. We have already booked for our next holiday and i can go away knowing my girls will recieve the best care from Dave and Sam. thankyou again and see you soon. Lisa, Mark, Elsa & Roxy

Excellent Kennels!
We never enjoy leaving our beloved (and rather spoilt) Labradors in kennels, however, it is made easier knowing, in our opinion, that the care they receive at Windy Hill is second to none. Our dogs always look happy and healthy when we collect them and so we would never hesitate in recommending the kennels to our friends and family (which we have done on several occasions). Regular Customer
We've been using these kennels for many years now for our two cats. One of them is a nervous individual and had previously been distressed at other catteries. In Windy Hill under the care of Sam he has been fine and happy. We would recommend them without reservation.

This was the first time I've had to put my dog (Oscar) in kennels and Windy Hill was recomended to me by other dog owners. I was really nervous about leaving Oscar as any dog owner would be, but as soon as I arrived I felt at ease straight away. The place was clean, tidy and was obviously well run. The garden is huge and has plenty of room for the dogs to have their exercise. When I picked Oscar up (some week and a half later) he looked very healthy and happy. I was very Impressed with Windy Hill and would recomend them to anyone. I already booked Oscar in there for when I next go away. I've also booked him in for a groaming, which has also been recomended. Thank you Sam and Dave.

I have known sam and dave for a few years now and i was disgusted to hear of the bad reviews that windy hill has been given.Sam has been clipping my boys(taylor and yoda) since she opened at windy hill and then when the kennels were opened i knew that my boys would be safe and well looked after whenever i went on holiday(in fact it is their second home).I have no hesitation in recomending windy hill be it for clipping,cattery or kennels.The whole family are clearly devoted animal lovers.Long may it continue.

Reviewing on my return!
Its taken awhile for me to review after collecting my dog from Windy Hill as, ive had computer troubles, that are now resolved.. So, as i wrote before, i was nervous about leaving my Dog anywhere as this was our first time away from him! We left Zac for 2 weeks with David and Sam and, my youngest daughter was heartbroken when it was time to leave him,(secretly i was to!) But i knew he was in very good hands as Windy Hills is so highly spoken of and, also we visited to see where Zac would be staying prior to leaving him.. David made my daughter, whos 9, very much at ease in showing her Zac's room and, explaining what his days will consist of. So we left for our holiday! We called once a week from Turkey to speak to David who was always happy to take our calls and tell us how he was, and if he'd been good and eating ok. We flew back on the Sunday and had arranged to have him collected on the Monday but, we was all so desperate to see him David agreed to let us come when we got home which, was after there working hours, (Thank you). When we got there Our puppy Rottweiler looked like a bear, he'd grown so much and, it was clearly obvious that he'd been looked after to the highest of standards. We took advantage of the grooming service and he looked and smelt real handsome! It seemed that David and the family became attached to Zac, as he did to them.. Zac was playing more with David when we got there to collect him than with me! We took a bed for Zac and sum treats also a bar of doggy chocolate (as it was his 1st birthday while he was there) and, his bed had been dry cleaned for us when we got there! The family at Windy Hills are clearly devoted animal lovers and care for there clients animals as if they where there own! I no my dog was extremley well looked after and, im sure that every other animal that passes through those gates are to.. Anyone who does'nt use this service when needing animal accomadation are depriving there pets of a luxury, clean and caring service whilst there away! I would'nt take my dog anywhere else as there is no comparison.. Also, in brief ive read other reviews on this site which must have been posted on the wrong buisness because the claims are not possible. Your cat could not hear the constant barking of dogs as the cattery is situated at the other side of the garden.. Please look where your writing your reviews as these people dont deserve any negative comments because you cant fault them or there buisness! Most people live by the moto that "Its nice to be important", David's moto is "Its more important to be nice"! Thanks again, Danny, Claire the girls and Zac.. (See you soon!)

Aggie's second home
We visited Windy Hill when Aggie was 12 weeks old, and she has stayed twice since. She adores David, and last time was in no rush to leave. The kennels are spotless and all the animals are happy. Last stay Sam very kindly trimmed the fur on Aggie's face while she was there, and was also happy to advice me on a couple of doggie concerns I had. The dog show held on 26th July was super with many happy dogs and owners, we all had a lovely day. these kennels were recommended to us and I'm so glad as we know Aggie is looked after just as we would ourselves.

Highly Recommended
My dog Angel stayed here for the first time. It is a lovely clean place with lots of space were all of her needs were attended to. she had her little holiday there and we will be more than happy to let her go there every time we go away infact there is nowere else I would even consider taking her to it will always be Windy hill.

We have left our beloved dog Bailey in the very capable care of Sam and Dave on several occasions since they opened their new extension kennels. Highly recommended, as they not only look after him as their own when he's there, but also put back into local charities by organising a dog show at the kennels. Sadly Bailey did not win a prize this time, but is now in training to reclaim the waggiest tail crown.

We have searched all over for that right kennel where it is clean, warm and homely for our dog, who is after all one of the family. Well this is it. We were made welcome from the start, After Dakota that is ;-). its clean and warm and friendly. Dakota is always excited to go there. You will not be disappointed. We have used these kennels over 10 times this year for long weekends - very highly recommended

have used these wonderful kennels for my cairns. Excellent quality kennels and the dogs were at home right away. Dave and Sam obviously both love animlals and this is reflected in the care of the animals when they have them. I would hioghly recommend them.

Highly Recommended
We've just started boarding our rescue dog at Windy Hill after a recommendation. When we arrived for a look round we were welcomed and discussed all aspects of care for our dog at length. The kennels (which don't smell doggy) are clean and warm with plenty of room for our large dog. David and Sam are obviously very caring to all their charges, which is more than apparent in the way the dogs interact with them. Dietary oddities, teeth cleaning or grooming are all catered for with a smile; David seems on a mission to discover all the characteristics of each and every one of the dogs in his care, which just about sums up Windy Hill and is why we are happy to return again and again.

could not recommend
We chose this cattery for our beloved cat as i was going away on holiday for two weeks, on my return to pick her up i found that she was hiding under her bed in the room and she had lost weight. I was shocked to hear the level of noise from the dogs barking as the kennels are so close, my cat will have been frightened by this noise and obviously had'nt settled or eaten very well, sorry to say i wouldn't use again.

i'v used these kennels now for 2 half years and i think they are the best i would't take me dogs anywhere els the grooming side is fab when my dogs go they always come back really happy so if you want a great dog service this is the one i wouldn't take my dogs anywhere els .

Having tried and tested other Kennels and Catteries in the area, Windy Hill has proven to be the most superior. It is clean and when we visited all the pets looked to be happy, giving us the confidence to leave our animals there. David and Sam show a great affection to the animals and a genuine understanding and caring for the pets and their owners. The facilites are first class and all the dogs are walked in a large and secure enviroment. The kennels and cattery are of the highest standard with ample room for more than one animal should the need arise, all are heated, spotlessly clean and having a pet with health problems we are confident that her medication is given correctly. Sam also provides a grooming service which in itself is first class. We have no hesitation in recommending to both family and friends and we and the pets all look forward to returning in November.

Dog Kennels
After a previous bad experience at a kennels, I was finding it difficult to find a kennel to leave my dog - one which I could trust to look after her the way she is looked after at home! My daughter recommended Windy Hill and from the first time I took my dog there (to be groomed at first), I knew I'd found the right place. The kennels are excellent - clean, modern and friendly - I can leave my dog overnight, for a week or for longer and she's happy and content. Not only can I highly recommend the kennels, but the grooming service is fantastic also!

Cattery
Marshall is an extremely spoilt cat and I've had trouble in the past finding somewhere to leave him whilst on holidays. At last I've found the perfect place - Windy Hill! He gets as spoilt there as he is at home and the facilities are more than excellent. I can't recommend Windy Hill highly enough. Clean, modern and very friendly. Triple A rating from me (and Marshall)!

Our Dogs Holiday
As mentioned in previous reviews it is nervous time leaving your pet for the first time. Finding good kennels is not easy... well look no further, Windy Hill is great. Our 10 month old Lab has just spent 2 nights and we were very pleased with how she was cared for. The kennels are a good size, very clean and are equipped with heaters for winter and dehumidifiers for summer. A good exercise area is provided in the gardens. Dave, Sam and their sons provide a friendly, family atmosphere which i am sure rubs off on the dogs as they feel at "home" We would recommend Windy Hill to anyone and will definately use them again.

Dog boarding kennels
I recently put my 7 month old Weirmaraner in Windy Hill...We were so nervous on leaving her for the first time, she had never been parted from us. The kennels are immaculate and spacious and the owners so friendly and caring. My friend called everyday to see if my dog was ok and this was no trouble at all to owners Dave and Sam...On leaving her a couple of weeks later on a one night overstay, my dog couldnt wait to get out of the car and fuss David, she was so excited to see him again...this action spoke a thousand words... My mind was fully at rest leaving her at Windyhill and I wouldnt hesitate in recommending these boarding kennels to anyone.

Dog Hotel.
Ive been exceptionally nervous about putting our dog into kennels while we go on our holidays but, after visiting Windy Hills my mind is completely at rest. The grounds are vast, amazing and immaculate as are the spacious rooms your dog is housed in.. These kennels are better than some hotels ive stayed in, the level of hygiene is fantastic. There is no oddour of dogs, cats or any other smell you would associate with kennels! There are heaters within the rooms for winter or cold evenings and, your pets bed is raised from the floor for extra warmth. Alternativley, there are dehumidifiers for those summer days! Im assured my dog will be walked or out of his room at least four times daily and i have no doubt that he will be exceptionally looked after! The couple who own Windy Hills are very nice and friendly and, as they run the place themselves you dont have to be concerned that your dog will be seeing different staff members and, treated differently on a daily basis. The price is very reasonable and i urge anyone whos looking to house there pets in or around the area to use this service.. I will review again on my return. Danny Allison

Cats and Dogs Hotel
We were very pleased with the exceptional services provided by Windy Hill Cats & Dogs Hotel. All the animal kennels were very clean, spacious, warm and looked very comfortable. Dave and Sam were extremely friendly during our visit. I would board my animals with Windy Hill without any concern that they are being very well looked after and exercised on a daily basis.
