A restaurant for those that don't get out much - over priced menu leads people to think that this is something special. They do have an all-inclusive menu at a reduced rate but if you are in a party of more than four I suggest not going for this as the frequently patronising staff can't cope with the complications. The menu never changes although in their defence there is a specials board. The food really is over priced - every pub and wannabe food outlet around the country does a half decent Shank of Lamb so, "Change the record!"If you want simple food at good prices open the Michelin Red Guide and check out the 'Bib Gourmand' rated restaurants (good food under £26)- you will see that Ye Toll House is not in there. The wine is ok but caters mainly for those that are expert amongst supermarket brands. All in all the food is nice but at rubbish prices - I would rather make a detour and head for the city where for the same price you'll get a creative menu.

Really fantastic resto.Superb menu of traditional and contemporary cuisine and an excellent wine list. Inspiring choices which provide an opportunity to eat out properly without the pretentiousness.Warm, welcoming atmosphere and real 'can do' staff.Thank you. I felt happy and comfortable.
