Very disappointing

Overall, very poor customer service, arrogant people. I appreciate that they are well known and they could be good at their job, but if the person is not personable, and arrogant, greedy, and inconsiderate, then however good the job, it would have been a bad experience overall. We booked a survey in January 2016, and Michael came in to have a look. The quote was provided after about 2 weeks, which was about £5500 in total including the stove. The earliest date was April, and they continued to boast that they were busy ‘until august of this year!’ Anyways they got us to pay £1950 to get the date confirmed, and then asked for us to pay £2800 one week before April 19th (the date when the work was suppose to start). So according to them, we had to pay £4800 and the remaining money of £800 was to be paid after the work was done. I was not very comfortable with paying 80% of the work before even the job had commenced. They came home on 19th April to commence the job and then refused to start the work before the £2800 was paid. I was told that they could not trust me to pay them the £800 after work, and I should have paid the £2800. I then clarified things and said I was prepared to pay the money straight away, on the day ( since they had already come home to do the job). We waited for about 4 months for this date Micheal and his brother refused to carry on the work, and said that they could not ‘trust’ us. They said that they have jobs booked till august and we should be lucky for having them. They continued to be arrogant and blatantly said that they were not bothered about this job and left. We are working professionals and there was no question about payment, I lost about £500 just by not working that day waiting for them to start the job. It was not a question of money, but the brothers were quite greedy and inconsiderate. They then emailed to say that they would refund the money within 24 hours, only to be refunded in 3 days time. I can update on the next quotes and if anybody needs further clarification about my experience with Miachel Jones Stoves ( invoices, emails, quotes) please feel free to contact. Overall, very poor customer service, arrogant people. I appreciate that they are well known and they could be good at their job, but if the person is not personable, and arrogant, greedy, and inconsiderate, then however good the job, it would have been a bad experience overall.
