Number 30 is a lovely bungalow in Birchington Thanet, providing luxury bed and breakfast with easy off road parking. If arriving by train we are only 7 minutes walk from the station.
Blue Flag awarded Minnis Bay is but a short stroll with its picturesque sandy beach, perfect to provide a tranquil break or a base to explore Kent's north coastal area.
A relaxing luxurious bedroom awaits you with a king size bed and feather and down bedding, bath robes, hairdryer, large TV, tea and coffee making facilities and free WiFi. The bedroom overlooks a pretty garden. The shared bathroom is well appointed with choice of bath or shower, shaving point and soft fluffy towels. Tariff for two persons sharing for bed with full English breakfast is £55 per night or £45 for single occupancy.
A short stroll from Number 30 takes you to the cliff tops at Grenham bay where from there, a very pleasant walk along the cliffs or down along the promenade takes you to the blue flag awarded Minnis Bay with its sandy beach and safe bathing areas. For cyclists there is a cycle hire facility and the excellent Viking cycle trail. The bustling village high street is also within walking distance (about ten minutes) where there are various restaurants, cafe's and wine bars to be found.
Historical Canterbury is thirty minutes away by car but is also accessible by public transport. Of course the magnificent Cathedral holds court but there are many other fine old buildings around the city and with a good choice of restaurants and shops available Canterbury is a ‘must see' for most visitors.
Quex Park is about 5 minutes drive away. Within the Park is Quex House built in 1805 surrounded by gardens and parkland. However the jewel in the crown is the Powel-Cotton Museum which contains a taxidermy collection of mainly African wildlife, items of cannon, weaponry and fine pieces of furniture.
Manston International Airport (with daily flights into Amsterdam's Schiphol hub Airport) is ten minutes drive approx. and home to the Spitfire Museum which is situated on one of the very few surviving airfields which participated in the battle of Britain. It has original examples of a Spitfire and Hurricane fighter aircraft and many other artefacts and exhibits.
Margate which is home to the new Turner Art Gallery and revitalised old town with its many vintage shops.
Broadstairs with its links with Dickens, has a dedicated Dickens festival in June and Folk Week in August each year.
Sandwich. The medieval Cinque Port with its many ancient buildings make Sandwich one of the best preserved medieval towns in England. It is also famous of course for periodically hosting the Open Golf championships.
