Prescient Power

Consultants and installers of all major renewable energy technologies: solar panels, solar thermal, wind turbines, biomass boilers, heat pumps and hydroelectric.

Trusted installers for National Trust Wales and RSPB

With our diverse offering (working across all renewable energy technology) and the ability to provide the solution with the best investment potential for our clients, we have been trusted to work on important historic sites for the National Trust Wales and provide off-grid electricity for RSPB.

We look at the site as a whole, at your goals (whether that be to save money, create an investment or cut carbon) and we design the system that best matches your goals. Free site surveys and no obligation quotes. We have Chartered Engineers on all projects, MCS accredited installers and military trained project managers.

Biomass boiler installers

Whatever your heat or hot water demand, we can design a biomass boiler to meet your needs on site. Biomass is an excellent replacement for oil, LPG or electric heating and provides an excellent cost saving and money making tool. With the current Renewable Heat Incentive (available for commercial biomass installations), you can expect a medium sized 200kW boiler, replacing an oil boiler, to pay for itself within 4 years (through cost savings and incentive payments) and to generate investment turns of 27% over a 20 year period.

We design all systems to your building and your needs, can arrange for fuel contracts and can offer a variety of funding methods - including leasing and loaning which require no upfront costs.

Added to this it is carbon neutral and lets you become independent of rising oil costs.

Solar panels for farms

With a long list of satisfied customers with ground mounted and roof mounted arrays we have helped customers to save money on their farms. Decreasing the costs of grain drying and running machinery, solar panels are a great addition to any farm.

Our customers most pleased about the efficiency with which we work and the way in which we work around the farming everyday activity, creating minimum disruption.

‘Prescient Power delivered above our expectations particularly in finding the best solution with respect to planning and connection. The project was delivered on time and below the original budget cost. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional company.' Lodge Farm, Bedfordshire

Testimonials

The RSPB have recently ‘called for a renewables revolution in harmony with nature’. And they are not just talking about it. In April 2013 Prescient Power helped them to achieve their targets with a 10kW Solar panel installation on the roof of the Frampton Marsh visitor centre in the East of England. The site is remote and off grid. The solar installation will help replace the demand on the diesel generator installed on site and has been configured to charge a bank of batteries during the day, to be released as demand requires. Despite not being connected to the National Grid the RSPB still benefits from the Feed In Tariff, inappropriately named in this case as the tariff pays for the generation of energy, not the feed into the grid. The installation will receive 13.99p/kWh for this tariff, which should be in the region of £1076 per year, increasing annually in line with inflation. There will be the added cost saving from not having to run the diesel generator, not to mention the reduction in noise pollution too. Now the birds will love that! This installation used Renusol Metasole mounting system installed on a trapezoidal roof. Due to the windy location quite a number of fixings were used. The building was built to a very high specification and with Solar panels in mind so no structural reinforcement was required. The EPC rating of the building is now A+. John Badley, Warden, RSPB Frampton said “We chose Prescient Power for several reasons. Firstly they had an impressive pedigree, having worked on numerous successful projects for a variety of customers in the environmental sector. Secondly I was assured they had the technical understanding of our complex off-grid set-up and thoroughly understood the many options for us regarding renewables and finally I was impressed at the genuine commitment towards us as a customer. We felt we could trust Prescient Power, they are nice people! I was very impressed with the installation of our Solar panels. It looks in keeping with the building and most importantly performs as well as they said it would. The engineers who visited were capable, personable and even collected up all the packaging and took it away for recycling. So for someone who is used to tidying up after contractors this was quite a pleasant surprise and showed their commitment to doing a thorough job.”

Prescient Power installed the stations within a matter of hours, they were efficient, friendly and gave a full explanation on how to work the system' - Colm Kelly, General Manager K&K George Hotel Set in London's charming Kensington district, K+K George Hotel combines a beautiful and classical London building with modern living. As part of a European network of hotels, they attract guests travelling for business or pleasure from all over the world. K+K George Hotel are passionate about creating a home away from home for their guests and know that sustainability is an important issue to many of their clients. Already having obtained a Green Tourism for London Silver award, they have demonstrated clear environmental practice, particularly in regards to reducing landfill and being more energy efficient. They were keen to take the next step to send a clear message to guests with electric vehicles, making it easy for them to use their cars whilst visiting London. They were provided with 2 free charging stations from Zero Carbon World, a pioneering company looking to kick start the electric vehicle charging network within the UK and installation was carried out by Prescient Power. ‘Minimum disruption was most important when embarking on this project' says Colm Kelly, General Manager. ‘We wanted the charging stations, but they had to be installed quickly with the minimum of fuss. We are a busy, 24 hour, hotel and the installation work could not impact on our customers. Prescient Power installed the stations within a matter of hours, they were efficient, friendly and gave a full explanation on how to work the system. We are really happy with the installation and were ready to offer the stations to guests the same day. Offering a full charge to a customer only costs us £2, which is a tiny amount when considering the positive environmental impact that these stations can make.'
