Hi, we are Margaret and Margaret and have been running The Secret Pantry in Tenterden for several years now. We are a licenced cafe/restaurant serving breakfasts, lunch and afternoon teas.

About Us

We started out as a simple sandwich shop with just two tables. News about the quality of our great food spread quickly, and we soon were able to make our dream come true: our own restaurant in the city!
Our restaurant now has 30 tables, but our goal remains to offer our customers a great meal at a reasonable price. That does not mean, however, that we compromise quality to do so. On the contrary: We guarantee the freshness of our ingredients and prepare everything just the way you like it. We are a family restaurant with a tradition in food excellence.

We are dedicated to preserving a fantastic dining tradition. Our homemade sandwiches and burgers are, to us, a piece of home that we would like to preserve for the next generation.

Our Services

At The Secret Pantry, food is synonymous with freshness, quality and where possible locally sourced produce. All our food is freshly cooked and sandwiches are made to order. We have daily specials for soups, pies, dishes of the day and desserts. Why not come and try our sharing platters with a glass of wine or beer. We have a choice of platters to suit all tastes, Ploughman's, Huntsman's, Fisherman's, Charcutterie, Vegetarian and Cheese.

Food and Drink

Our afternoon teas our one of our specialities with freshly baked cakes and scones and delicious finger sandwiches with a choice of fillings. We have also sourced some delicious teas, all our teas are tea leaves therefore giving a more intense flavour. All our food is freshly cooked and prepared, therefore you may have to wait a short time but we are sure that the wait will be worth while. We use a local butcher in Bethersden for all our meat and also use local suppliers of fish, vegetables and eggs. All our produce is of the highest quality .
